On 16 August 2024, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul together with some Ambassadors and representatives from Embassies of CICA’s member states were invited by the Embassy of Kazakhstan to attend a welcoming dinner in honor of H.E. Mr. Kairat Sarybai, Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidenc-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), during his visit to the ROK.

The Secretary General aimed to strengthen ties with the ROK within the CICA’s framework. So far the ROK has remained one of the largest contributors to the CICA Secretariat’s budget. He also gave a briefing on key achievements of CICA in 2020-2024 and the outlook for the future. He emphasized that he will find synergy between CICA and Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), initiated by Thailand in which both countries are members for enhancing Pan-Asia Cooperation.
