On 25 May 2024, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, and the diplomatic corps in the Republic of Korea were invited by Mr. Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul, to attend the opening ceremony of the Seoul Friendship Festival 2024 at Gwanghwamun, in front of Gyeongbok Palace. Performers and Muay Thai troupes from Bangkok also participated in the parade at the opening ceremony and will showcase Thai arts and cultures from May 24 to 26, 2024.
 
In the evening of the same day, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. attended a reception for the diplomatic corps and took this opportunity to inform the Mayor of Seoul regarding the Royal Thai Embassy’s plan to hold the “Sawasdee Seoul” Thai festival in the 3rd quarter of this year in Seoul, and requested supports from the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
 
This year, from May 24 to 26, 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy will participate in the Seoul Friendship Festival 2024, organising Thai cooking demonstration and inviting Thai restaurants in the ROK to present their popular Thai dishes such as Somtam, shrimp PadThai, fresh mango sticky rice, and other Thai street foods like grilled pork, grilled meatballs, fried spring rolls as well as Thai iced tea from Chef of Thai Ambassador’s Residence and Thai Leo Beer.
