On 4 September 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, participated in the recording of an online seminar on “Sustainable Aquaculture: Best practices from the Norwegian Salmon Industry”, hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo and Thailand and Nordic Countries Innovation Unit (TNIU), Norway. The Embassy is honoured to have three academic experts on sustainable Aquaculture participated as speakers, namely Dr. Panya Sae-Lim, Senior Geneticist, Mowi Genetics AS, Norway, Dr. Putth Songsangjinda, Advisor, Department of Fisheries, and Dr. Sage Chaiyapechara, Researcher, National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC, NSTDA). Ms. Kanoknapat Suksong, Researcher and coordinator of Thailand and Nordic Countries Innovation Unit (TNIU), Norway, was the moderator.
 
Ambassador Vimolbajra shared her views and experiences on “sustainable aquaculture” from her two study visits to Salmon farms in Bergen and Tromsø. She also identified areas and best practices that Thailand can learn from Norway. During the last session, the speakers suggested areas of possible collaboration for the Embassy to explore and further promote a concrete cooperation with the Norwegian side.
 
The seminar on “Sustainable Aquaculture: Best practices from the Norwegian Salmon Industry” will be broadcasted on the Embassy’s facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RoyalThaiEmbassyOslo) on 27 September 2023 at 10.00 hrs. Norwegian time or 15.00 hrs. Thailand time during the TNIU week to mark one year anniversary of the official launching of the TNIU platform.
