On 15 May 2022, Mr. Monsak Jangariyawong, Minister Counsellor, and Miss Potchamas Saengthien, Counsellor, attended a celebration of Vesak Day at Karma Tashi Ling Buddhist Society, upon invitation of the Buddhist Federation of Norway.  Members of the sangha from many countries such as Vietnam, Myanmar, Tibet, and Thai participated, including the Abbot of Wat Thai Norway, Bergen. 

Mr. Egil Lothe, Secretary General of the Buddhist Federation of Norway and Mrs. Nirmala Eidsgård, Chair of the Buddhist Federation of Norway gave welcoming remarks to the Members of the sangha and the Buddhist disciplines.  The Buddhist celebration follows, which are lighting of the candles at the altar, chanting, dhamma teaching, meditation, and sprinkling water on the Buddha image.

The Buddhist Federation of Norway has organized the celebration of Vesak Day continuously for 40 years, starting on 8 May 1982.  However, due to the COVID-19 situation, during the past two years, the Vesak Day has been celebrated in an online format.  The last physical celebration was in 2019 and it also took place at the Karma Tashi Ling Buddhist Society.
