On 27 January 2022, H.E. Mr. Wilhelm M. Donko, Ambassador of Austria to Norway and his wife, Mrs. Yan Donko, hosted a luncheon for H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, on the occasion of Ambassador Donko’s upcoming assumption of position as the Ambassador of Austria to Thailand in April 2022.  Mr. Monsak Jangariyawong, Minister Counsellor, Miss Potchamas Saengthien, Counsellor, Miss Bheraya Homkosol, Counsellor and officers from the Austrian Embassy were also invited to the luncheon at the Austrian Ambassador’s Residence.

Both sides exchanged views on the COVID-19 situation and its effect on the Thai economy, recent measures to enter Thailand, tourist attraction places in Thailand and Thai food. 

Ambassador Donko and his wife are very fond of Thailand. During his assignment in the Republic of Korea and the Philippines, he and his family often visited many provinces in Thailand. They are very fond of Thai culture and Thai food. Therefore, Ambassador Donko is very pleased and looks forward to assume his position as the Austrian Ambassador to Thailand soon. It is believed that Ambassador Donko will play an important part in further strengthening close and cordial relations between Thailand and Austria.
