On June 23, 2024, Miss Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, presided over the Thai Fair opening ceremony, held at Mongkolthepmunee Temple in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. The event was co-organized by a Thai community board led by Ms. Boonyaporn Green and the Temple with a view to promoting Thailand through the showcase of Thai arts, culture, performances, cuisine, handicrafts, and tourism. The fair was attended by a great number of Thais and locals throughout the day, admirably expressing the solidarity of the Thai community in the area.

At this event, the Royal Thai Consulate General also provided mobile consular services on June 22-23, including Thai passport and national ID applications, legalization, and consultation on consular matters to Thai residents of Pennsylvania and nearby states, as well as general visitors, particularly for visa inquiries. A total of 145 cases were attended. It was also an opportunity for the Consulate General to get to know and exchange views with members of local Thai community, thus gaining inputs for further improvement of our consular services.

The Team Thailand’s effort was reinforced by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, New York Office’s booth, which showcased how amazing Thai tourism is, hence offering a comprehensive set of information for traveling to Thailand.

Lastly, the Royal Thai Consulate General wishes to express our sincere appreciation to the Mongkolthepmunee Temple for the kind cooperation rendered to us, as always.
