A Business Matching Event in Bahrain in Collaboration with the Thai Muslim Trade Association and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On 20 September 2023 at 10.00 a.m. the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce Industry in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Manama hosted a business matching event for the food sector at Al Majlis Hall, BCCI Headquarters in Manama. The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Sameer Nass, Chairman of Bahrain Chamber, and Mr. Piyapak Sricharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to Bahrain, who delivered the welcome remarks, while Mr. Khalid Al Amin, Head of BCCI Food Sector Committee gave a short keynote, highlighting the business opportunities in food sector between Thailand and Bahrain.

Participants from the Thai side include IBEV Thailand (date fruit drinks), Alliance Food Expert (crispy mushroom snacks “Munchroom”), Mahamongkolkhasong (Cheva’s coconut water and seafood sauce “Dongbang”), Superior Quality Food (frozen beef patty, beef jerky and condiments), Kiatboonkrong Rice Mill (rainbows rice), 5 food products companies, members from Thai Muslim Trade Association, and Ever Spring Industry Limited, a Thai consolidator based in Dubai, Thai Mart and Green Dragon W.L.L (imported variety of Thai food products) as well as SC Market W.L.L (made-in-Bahrain Thai vegetables), and three Thai trade companies established in Bahrain.

Participants from the Bahraini side include BCCI members, particularly from the food sector, and senior management from well-known retail companies such as Lulu Hypermarket, Babasons/Mega Mart, and Midway Supermarket, among others.

Later during the afternoon at 15.30 h, the Royal Thai Embassy and the TMTA held a “Thai Food Products Business Matching & Open House 2023” at the Nobel & Regent, Westin City Centre. The Thai Ambassador Mr Piyapak Sricharoen gave the welcome remarks encouraging Bahrain retailers and importers to explore new innovative Thai products. Participants include representatives from retail companies such as Mega Mart, Al Jazira, Lulu hypermarket, Alosra, Day-to-Day discount stores, as well as Thai food importers/ agents, owners of cold stores, and those who are interested in importing Thai food products.

This activity is part of the Royal Thai Embassy’s mission to promote Thai products in Bahrain and to support Thai and Bahraini business communities in exploring new business opportunities and partnerships.
