On April 1, 2024, the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Los Angeles, in cooperation with World Trade Center Utah, hosted Thailand Business Forum under the topic “Economic Trends and Market Insights: Thailand’s Business Landscape” in Salt Lake City, Utah. The forum aimed to showcase Thailand's potential as trade and investment destination for US businesses.

Consul-General Tor Saralamba, Directors from the Investment Promotion Offices, Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Thai Trade Center in Los Angeles, as well as public, private, and academic from Utah, actively participated in the forum and the business networking session.

Consul-General Delivered Opening Keynote Address

Consul-General Tor Saralamba delivered an opening keynote address highlighting Thailand's economic achievement in 2023 and provided an economic forecast for this year. Consul-General also explained the Thai Government's economic priorities, including investment promotion in the focused sectors, Thailand’s vision on green economy, competitiveness, and Thailand’s visions to consolidate the country’s status as the regional hubs for 8 key areas recently announced by the Prime Minister of Thailand. He also emphasized Thailand's advantages as a partner that can support the strength and continuity of the United States' supply chain.

Presentations by the Thai government officials

Mrs. Pornpan Intratat, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Los Angeles Office presented the key policies for the tourism sector and tourism activities this years. Then,

Mr. Ittichot Damrongraktam, Director of Thailand Board of Investment, Los Angeles Office and Ms. Natthawan Prachyakit, Deputy Director of Thai Trade Center in Los Angeles described important policies on trade and investment incentive schemes for the US private sector.

Presentations by US-based Companies

Following the presentations by Thai government officials, Mr. Tong Saetia, Vice President of N.A. Trading, one of the largest Asian food products importers in California, and Mr. David Rockwood, Co-founder of Spiro Carbon shared their experiences of doing business in Thailand and the opportunities of Thai products in United States. They also invited US companies to collaborate on mutually beneficial projects in the future.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General expressed its sincere appreciation to the World Trade Center Utah and all the participating speakers.
