On 26 May 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon in Portugal organised a religious ceremony marking Visakha Bucha Day for the celebration on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on 28th July 2024, at Sumedharama Monastery in Ereceira, Portugal. The ceremony was attended by around 60 Thai and Portuguese nationals. On this occasion Laung Pho Vajiro, abbot of the Monastery, and his fellow monks kindly gave sermons. The Embassy’s officials and the participants did merit making, i.e. offering alms to the monks and practicing the meditation and walking meditation around Monastery’s stupa.
