Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia call on Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia

On 23 May 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia paid a courtesy call on Tan Sri Dato’ Johari bin Abdul, Chief Justice of Malaysia Speaker of the House of Representatives (Dewan Rakyat) at the Parliament of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

The Ambassador and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia exchanged information on Thai and Malaysian parliamentary cooperation, preparations for the exchange of visits at various levels, as well as cooperation during Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025 in areas of mutual interests, including green energy/renewable energy cooperation and two-way tourism promotion. The Royal Thai Embassy is also supportive of the cooperation between the two parliaments through initiatives that will help promote a better understanding of Thailand among the next generation of Malaysian parliamentarians, who will play key roles in strengthening Thailand – Malaysia relations in the future.

Both sides also engaged in a constructive exchange of view and information on the developments of legal reforms in Malaysia and Thailand, and expressed readiness to support each other’s endeavor in strengthening cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia.
