The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata participated in Calcutta Club’s International Evening for the first time since 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic on 3 – 5 March 2023. At the event, the Consulate-General opened Thai food stall selling vegetarian recipe papaya salad (Som Tam) and glass noodle salad with shrimp (Yam Wun Sen), which were warmly received by more than 3,000 participants.

Calcutta Club is a prestigious club established in 1907 and was visited by prominent figures such as King Edward VIII when he was the Prince of Wales, and former Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Nowadays, Calcutta Club becomes socialising place for elites in Kolkata. The International Evening is the annual food and entertainment event which has been continuously participated by foreign Consulates-General, famous hotels and restaurants in Kolkata.
