The Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest hosted the Thai Festival 2024

On 15 September 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest hosted the Thai Festival 2024 at the Hungarian National Museum, Budapest. The event was opened by H.E. Mr. Phrommes Bhaholpolbhayuhasena, Ambassador of Thailand to Hungary. The opening ceremony included a lively long drum parade that captured the excitement of the attendees.

This year’s festival featured a wide range of cultural activities, including traditional dance performances by the performers from Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts, a mini street fashion show by the diplomatic corps in Hungary highlighting Thai streetwears and designs from Industrial Product Design students from Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep, cooking demonstrations by Chef Preecha Boonbutta from Im-oon Thai restaurant, a Wai Khru ceremony and a Thai boxing demonstration by the Hungarian Muaythai Federation. Additionally, booths run by Thai entrepreneurs offered a variety of Thai food, desserts, and drinks, as well as Thai massage services. The Royal Thai Embassy also hosted a booth showcasing Thai products and activities, such as temporary traditional Thai tattoo (Sakyant), an egg-fishing game with prizes, and Thai calligraphy on bookmarks.

The event also featured the lucky draws for two round-trip tickets from Budapest to Bangkok, sponsored by Turkish Airlines. Quizzes about Thailand to win prizes from Anantara New York Palace Budapest, De Lanna Thai Massage, Parázs Presszó Thai Étterem, and Thai President Foods (Hungary) Kft. The festival attracted more than 5,000 visitors throughout the day.
