On 18 October 2022 H.E. Mr. Chatchawan Sakornsin, Ambassador of Thailand, presided over the donation ceremony from the Royal Thai Government in the amount of 9,500 US dollars to help renovate the exhibition room of the Reclining Buddha at the National Museum of Antiquity of Tajikistan. This donation also serves as an activity to mark the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Tajikistan.

    Thailand has played a key role in helping renovate the Reclining Buddha in Tajikistan. In 2004 Bel Oil Company Limited of Thailand donated 19,000 USD to restore the Reclining Buddha. This was followed by the donation of 10,000 USD from the Royal Thai Government in 2013 to additionally restore the Reclining Buddha.
