On 27 September 2026, Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Mr. Nawaf Abdullatif Sulaiman Al-Ahmad, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs of the State of Kuwait, co-chaired the Second Round of Thailand - Kuwait Political Consultations (PC) in the State of Kuwait.

Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening and advancing bilateral relations to better reflect the potential of the two countries. The co-chairs agreed to enhance cooperation in food security, including the halal industry, medical tourism, defence industry, and education. They also exchanged views on developments in Asia and the Middle East and discussed cooperation in multilateral frameworks, particularly the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), in which Thailand and Kuwait play leading roles, as well as trilateral development cooperation building upon the Thailand - Africa Initiative (TAI).

The Second Round of Political Consultations was held as a follow-up to the First Round, hosted by Thailand in 2024, and took place at a time when conflicts continue in the Middle East. The meeting reflected Thailand’s solidarity with Kuwait, as well as the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthen their bilateral relations.
