On 14 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister, and spouse, along with H.E. Mr. Jakkapong Sangmanee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, as well as representatives from relevant agencies, extended a warm welcome to H.E. General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, and spouse, during their Official Visit to the Kingdom of Thailand between 13-17 February 2024.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister and the Governor-General had bilateral discussions about the relations between Thailand and Australia, which were described as positive, constructive, and pragmatic. Moreover, the two sides discussed the future of the bilateral cooperation as Strategic Partners, particularly in the areas of economy, including energy and agricultural technology, defence and security, people-to-people relations, education, and tourism. Both sides agreed to maintain the momentum of the relationship between Thailand and Australia.

The meeting was followed by a performance of Muay Thai, an important form of soft power, and a Luncheon hosted by the Prime Minister and his spouse in honour of the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and spouse.
