On 28 November 2024, Her Excellency Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, welcomed His Excellency Mr. Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, on the occasion of his official visit to Thailand. This marks the first visit by a foreign leader to Thailand under Prime Minister Shinawatra's tenure.

During the bilateral meeting, both Prime Ministers expressed the importance of long-standing ties and close cooperatoin in many areas. As the two countries will commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations together in 2025, there will be high-level exchanges throughout the year. In this regard, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore also extended an invitation to the Prime Minister to make an official visit to Singapore, and the Prime Minister also extended an invitation to the President of the Republic of Singapore to make an official visit to Thailand.

Both sides discussed ways to expand cooperation in many areas, such as increasing trade and investment, promoting likages of financial and banking system, as well as capital market, and security and defence industry. They also agreed to explore new areas of cooperation, such as food and energy security, digital economy, green economy, and carbon credit trading collaboration. Both sides also exchanged views on significant regional issues, such as situation in Myanmar, drug trafficking, and online scams.

​During the visit, both Prime Minsters witnessed the signing ceremony of MoU on Cooperation between the Office of the Civil Service Commission of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, which will encourage more educational cooperation and provide scholarships to Thai civil servants.
On this occasion, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Her Majesty Queen Suthida graciously granted the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore and spouse a Royal Audience at the Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall, Dusit Palace.
