Prime Minister holds video call with five recently released Thai hostages in Tel Aviv

On 1 February 2025, H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, held a video call with the five recently released Thai hostages, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs,  H.E. Ms. Pannabha Chandraramya, Ambassador of Thailand to Israel, and General Songwit Noonpackdee, Chief of Defence Forces, who visited the five Thai nationals at the Al-Shamir Medical Center, where they have been receiving medical care since their release on 30 January 2025.

During the conversation, the Thai nationals expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv for their efforts in securing their release. They are in good physical condition and have received close medical care from the Israeli medical team. They also have already communicated with their families back in Thailand.

The Prime Minister expressed her congratulations upon learning that the Thai nationals are in good health. She further offered encouragement and assured them that the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are fully committed to assisting and welcoming their return to Thailand.
