H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister, is scheduled to visit France on 16 May 2024 and travel on to pay an official visit to Italy during 17 - 21 May 2024. H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will also join the delegation.

During the visit to France, the Prime Minister will deliver a keynote speech and lead the Thai business delegation to participate in the Thailand-France Business Forum, which is the result of his discussions with H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of France during the Prime Minister’s previous official visit in March earlier this year, with an aim to expand business opportunities in potential sectors. The French President will host a luncheon in honor of the Prime Minister to follow up on the progress of Thai-French collaboration and expand further cooperation, particularly in areas such as trade and investment, defense industry, and soft power.

During the official visit to Italy, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting and attend a working lunch hosted by H.E. Mrs. Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, to promote Thailand’s Vision as a regional hub in 8 key industries, including aviation, logistics, tourism, future mobility and electric vehicles. In this occasion, the Prime Minister aims to strengthen Thailand-Italy cooperation in the areas of fashion and soft power, food and agricultural technology, clean energy, space, biopharmaceuticals and regenerative medicine, defence and Thailand’s Landbridge Project.

In addition, the Prime Minister will also hold one-on-one discussions with high-level officials from the public and private sectors of Italy to expand opportunities in trade and investment, as well as exchange know-how in the focus areas. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet with Mr. Attilio Fontana, President of Lombardy Region, which is the most important region of Italy's economy, as it generates 22 percent of Italy’s GDP, as well as the seat of Southern Europe's largest stock exchange and a global hub for fashion and design.

The Prime Minister will visit Japan during 22 - 24 May 2024, to deliver a speech at the 29th Nikkei Forum Future of Asia, under the theme of "Asian Leadership in an Uncertain World", where he will outline Thailand's economic vision. He will also meet with major Japanese companies to attract further investment from Japan to Thailand.
