Prime Minister of Thailand had a teleconference with Prime Minister of New Zealand. Both sides agreed to enhance high-level interactions and reiterated commmitment to promote cooperation in order to revive ecomony. Prime Minister urged New Zealand to consider returning of Thai students as a priority group for reopening border.

On 5 November 2021, H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand, had a teleconference with the Right Honorable Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand, as requested by the New Zealand side. Both sides agreed to enhance bilateral relations and high-level interactions on the occasion that Thailand will assume the APEC chairmanship after New Zealand in 2022, and with 2021 being the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to promoting bilateral relations in order to revive the domestic and regional economy from the impact of COVID-19 by stregthening cooperation in trade and investment, as well as areas that will answer to the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model of Thailand and the 30-year New Zealand Economic Plan including agricultural technology, food innovation, renewable energy, public health, education, and sustainable tourism which New Zealand has great strength. The Prime Minister also urged New Zealand to consider Thai students as a priority group when reopens its borders to foreign visitors.
