On 26 July 2022, Prime Minister of Thailand met with the Executive Committee of BIE at the Government House during the visit to Thailand to assess the bid to organize the Expo 2028 – Phuket, Thailand, to be held during 21 March - 17 June 2028, under the theme “Future of Life: Living in Harmony, Sharing Prosperity”.
 
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s full support and Thailand’s readiness in hosting the Expo which will be the opportunity to present the country’s competence as a world-class medical hub and leading medical tourism destination.
 
There are 5 candidate countries to bid for the Specialised Expo 2027/2028, namely Thailand, USA, Serbia, Spain and Argentina. The host country will be voted next year in June 2023.
