H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India will pay an official visit to Thailand at the invitation of H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, between 3 - 4 April 2025. During the visit, the Thai Prime Minister and the Prime Minister of India will make an announcement to elevate Thailand-India relations to Strategic Partnership and will also witness the signing of various agreements. The Thai Prime Minister will receive the Prime Minister of India and his delegation at the Government House, where both sides will have a bilateral meeting.

 

This visit will be Prime Minister Modi’s first official visit to Thailand and marks the first visit by an Indian leader in 12 years. Both sides will discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in various areas, such as political and defense cooperation, trade and investment, connectivity, science, technology and innovation including space technology in which India excels. Cultural cooperation, which is a strong foundation for Thailand-India relations, will also be discussed with focus on people-to-people connections and tourism. Both leaders will also exchange views on the regional and global geopolitical issues of common interest as well as cooperation within multilateral frameworks.

 

Prime Minister of India will also attend the 6th BIMSTEC Summit on 4 April 2025, which will be hosted by Thailand.
