On 22 February 2023, Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs joined members of Thailand's Candidature Committee at Thailand Symposia to present Expo 2028 - Phuket to the Bureau of International Exposition (BIE) and member countries at the Pavillon Gabriel, Paris.

The Symposia highlighted the key elements of the Expo theme “Future of Life: Living in Harmony, Sharing Prosperity” which promotes innovative and collaborative solutions towards the sustainable future through collaboration under the 3 Ps: People, Planet and Prosperity. It also showcased Thailand’s success stories on sustainable development and Phuket’s development plan and readiness.

Thailand was represented by a distinguished panel of speakers including Dr. Atchaka Sibunruang, Chairman of the Board of TCEB; Mr. Chankit Chamnivikaipong, a professional cinematographer and founder of Thai Whales Website; Dr. Veerathai Santiprabhob, Secretary General of Mae Fah Luang Foundation; Mr. Bhumikitti Ruktaengam, President of Sustainable Tourism Development Foundation; Mr. Yossapon Boonsom, architect; and Deputy Permanent Secretary Phantipha. Together they presented the various aspects of Expo 2028 – Phuket focusing on shifting our mindset to promote sustainability through a people-centred approach to promote environmental sustainability and economic growth. The Expo will advocate global collaborative solutions to deliver meaningful progress towards sustainable development, especially for developing countries.
