On 26 January 2024, Mr. Vorapun Srivoranart, Deputy Director-General of East Asian Affairs Department, together with H.E. Mrs. Millicent Cruz-Paredes, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Thailand, presided over the kick-off reception to launch the 75th anniversary of Thailand – Philippines diplomatic relations under the theme “Moving Forward to the New Era of Closer Friendship and Common Prosperity”. The event was co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. There were more than 100 participants from various sectors, comprising government officials, the private sector and the media.

In his remarks, Deputy Director-General Vorapun highlighted the cordial and long-standing relations between the two countries in several aspects, including politics, defense, trade, culture, and people-to-people ties. He also expressed confidence in the potentials of Thailand and the Philippines to further strengthen relations in all dimensions.
