On 16 September 2025, Mrs. Hataya Khusakul, Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Ms. Cecilia Zunilda Galarreta Bazán, Ambassador of Peru to Thailand, on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. Both sides discussed co-organizing activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand - Peru diplomatic relations in November 2025. They emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in mutually beneficial areas such as trade and investment, people-to-people relations and multilateral collaboration.
 
Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to working closely together to advance key issues, especially the goal of concluding the Comprehensive Thailand - Peru Free Trade Agreement (FTA) within 2025. They discussed promoting high-level visits and dialogues, particularly within multilateral frameworks in which both countries are members, such as the United Nations (UN) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
