On 23 April 2021, Mr. Essam Saleh H. Algetale, Chargé d'Affaires of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs. Both sides discussed the strengthening of the two Kingdom’s bilateral relations. 

The Permanent Secretary also welcomed Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 which is in line with Thailand’s national development agenda, Saudi Green Initiative and Middle East Green Initiative as a means to combat global climate change, as well as Saudi Arabia’s role in the region.
