Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs discussed with Ambassador of Singapore on promotion of bilateral cooperation, trade and investment, digital economy and security as well as the measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

On 12 January 2021, H.E. Mr. Kevin Cheok, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore congratulated H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi on his appointment as Permanent Secretary. Both sides discussed wide-ranging issues, including the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccine procurement, measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 among migrant workers, and the facilitation of international travels as the situation improves. The two sides also discussed cooperation on trade and investment, digital economy, and security, and exchanged views on ASEAN and recent regional developments.
