Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand discussed ways to enhance bilateral and ASEAN cooperation in the current and post- COVID-19 era, focusing especially on the promotion of public health, food security, agriculture and sustainable development, during a virtual meeting with Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam. The Thai Permanent Secretary also affirmed Thailand’s support for Brunei Darussalam’s ASEAN chairmanship in 2021.

On 14 January 2021, H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, held a virtual introductory meeting with Dayang Emaleen binti Abdul Rahman Teo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam.

The two sides discussed ways to move forward cooperation in the current and post-COVID-19 era, including the promotion of public health, food security, agriculture and sustainable development.

The two Permanent Secretaries also discussed about ASEAN’s priorities while the Thai Permanent Secretary reaffirmed Thailand’s support for Brunei Darussalam’s ASEAN chairmanship this year under the theme “We care, We prepare, We prosper”.
