On 15 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Psusist Wongsurawat, Consul-General of Thailand in Penang, paid a courtesy call on YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State EXCO for Tourism and Creative Economy, at KOMTAR Tower. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Kantapon Sangkhapreecha, Consul and Ms. Janice Loh, Special Officer to YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State EXCO for Tourism and Creative Economy.

Both sides discussed ways to boost tourisms in Penang and Thailand, especially in promoting the unseen areas of Penang and Thailand. Both sides also discussed potential cooperation in organising Thai festivals and cultural events in Penang in the future.
