On 17 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to France, together with Mr. Nissana Thaveepanit, Minister (Commercial) and Mr. Songkhla Chulakasian, Minister (Agriculture), presented a letter signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperative of Thailand, to Mr. Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary-General of Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) and “Recognition Dossier”, formally expressing Thailand’s request to host the International Horticultural Exhibition 2029 which will be held under the theme “ Nature and Greenery : Envisioning the Green Future” in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat), Thailand.
On this occasion, the Ambassador-Designate underscored Thailand’s readiness to host the International Horticultural Exhibition. He emphasized that this expo will showcase Thailand’s excellence in horticulture and agriculture, integrating local wisdom with agricultural technology. The Ambassador-Designate also discussed future collaboration between Thailand and BIE particularly Thailand’s potential to host various future expos and the promotion of Thailand as a regional hub for hosting exhibitions.
