Mobile Consular Services at Thai Fair, Wat Mongkoltepmunee, Pennsylvania

On June 7–8, 2025, Ms. Katesuda Thongna, Consul,together with the staff of the Royal Thai Consulate General in New York, provided mobile consular services during the Thai Fair at Wat Mongkoltepmunee, Pennsylvania. The services included the applications for passport and Thai identification card, birth registration, legalization of documents, and visa & consular consultations - serving a total of 166 services provided for Thai nationals residing in Pennsylvania and nearby states.

The team also paid respects to Phra Rajmongkolvithes, the Abbot of Wat Mongkoltepmunee, and acquired the well-being of the monastic community and local Thai activities, especially the Sunday Buddhist School. This school, supported by a group of volunteer teachers and Thai parents, offers Thai language and cultural education to around 30 Thai-American youth grown up in the United States.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York, Consul Katesuda presented Thai language learning materials - supported by the Thai Foundation, a non-profit organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - to be used by the Sunday School in fostering love and connection with Thailand among Thai - American younger generation.

Additionally, on June 8, 2025, Consul Katesuda represented the Royal Thai Consulate General in New York at the Thai Fair's opening ceremony. The event featured Thai products and cuisine from all regions of Thailand, cultural performances by Thai youth, and dressing Thai traditional costume by the attendees. As an annual tradition, the Thai Fair at Wat Mongkoltepmunee reflects the strength and unity of the Thai community in Pennsylvania and neighboring areas in preserving and promoting Thai identity, culture, and community pride among both Thai and local audiences.
