On 11 September 2023, H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, presided over the opening session of the Diplomatic Workshop for New Diplomats from Myanmar held from 10-15 September 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. This workshop was an initiative under human resource development cooperation discussed during the meeting between H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and H.E. U Chan Aye, Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, on 21 July 2023.

Organized by Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), this workshop helped strengthen human resource development cooperation between the two Ministries. The trainees had the opportunity to enhance diplomatic skills and English for diplomatic purposes, learn about Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and its application in real life, as well as deepen knowledge about Thailand.

In the evening, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a Thailand-Myanmar networking night. The opening ceremony was chaired by Mrs. Ureerat Charroento, Director-General of TICA, while Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Former Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, delivered welcoming remarks. The event was joined by newly recruited diplomats from both countries and Thai diplomats who were posted in Myanmar, which provided a good opportunity to build friendship and networks for future cooperation.
