On 13 March 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and H.E. Ms. Tanja Fajon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia, jointly witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) and Diplomatic Academy (Slovenia). The MOU was signed by Ms. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, Director of Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Jasna Lhotka, Head of Department for Asia and Oceania.

This Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen cordial ties and cooperation between the two institutes. It will serve as a framework to further promote exchanges of information, perspectives and academic activities between the two sides, such as diplomatic trainings, seminars and publications, on the basis of mutual interest.

Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs and Diplomatic Academy (Slovenia) have enjoyed good relations, especially after the 49th International Forum on Diplomatic Training (IFDT) hosted by DVIFA in Bangkok two years ago. Last year, the two institutes also jointly organized online seminars on the topics of “ASEAN Perspective on Global Governance” and “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance and Foreign Policy,” which draw great attention from both Thai and Slovenian audiences.
