H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, will travel to Bagan, Myanmar, to attend
the 7th Mekong - Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

The Meeting’s agenda includes discussion on the direction of MLC cooperation to jointly address the current challenges, such as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, food and energy security, and climate change. The Foreign Ministers will also exchange views on the new draft 5-year Plan of Action of MLC (2023 - 2027), identifying priority areas of cooperation to cope with sub-regional challenges. This draft POA will be submitted to the 4th MLC Leaders’ Meeting for approval.

Initiated by Thailand, MLC was founded in 2016 (the 1st MLC Leaders’ Meeting). It is consisted of six member countries, namely Thailand, China, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam. Thailand is scheduled to take over the MLC Co-chairmanship with China from Myanmar after
the 4th MLC Leaders’ Meeting at the end of this year.
