The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been monitoring events with regard to the current situation in the Middle East and reports of rising tensions between Israel and Iran, and has instructed Embassies in the region to continue to follow and assess this unfolding situation closely.

Thus far, our Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv has alerted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the announcement by the Israeli authorities regarding the numerous drone and missile attacks on Israel, their readiness to prepare for and deter such attacks and the issuance of safety guidelines that are in effect from Saturday, 13 April 2024 at 23:00 hrs. until Monday, 15 April 2024 at 23:00 hrs., limiting the number of gatherings in various parts of the country, according to the situation in that specific area.

Currently, there are approximately 28,000 Thais residing in Israel and approximately 300 in Iran. The Royal Thai Embassies  in Tel Aviv and  in Tehran are in constant contact with the Thai communities there to update them on developments in the situation. At this time, there are no reports of Thai nationals in Israel or Iran being directly impacted or injured by the current situation.

Thailand is very concerned about the current unfolding situation in the Middle East and asks that all parties exercise the utmost restraint so that the situation does not deteriorate further, as it will inevitably have an impact on innocent civilians. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to follow developments closely and will coordinate with the relevant agencies on further assistance to Thai nationals in the affected areas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs encourages all Thai nationals in the region to follow the news and advice of the local authorities as well as the relevant Embassies there.
