From 21 September to 2 October 2026, Ms. Chuliepote Isarankura Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, led a Thai business delegation to Lima, Republic of Peru, and São Paulo, Federative Republic of Brazil, under the Latin Link 2026 programme. The visit aimed to promote trade and investment opportunities and foster business networks between Thailand and Latin America.

In Lima, the delegation joined the Royal Thai Embassy, led by H.E. Ms. Ek-on Khunacharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to Peru, in visiting ExpoAlimentaria 2026, one of the largest food and beverage trade fairs in Latin America. The visit provided an opportunity to explore products, innovations and trends in the food industry from Peru and around the world. The delegation also visited the Port of Chancay, which has been described as a “new trade gateway between Latin America and Asia,” to learn about logistics connectivity. In addition, the delegation met with the Lima Chamber of Commerce (Cámara de Comercio de Lima: CCL) and participated in a business networking session to receive an overview of the economic landscape and exchange views on opportunities to expand trade and investment between Thailand and Peru.

During the visit to São Paulo, the delegation met with the senior executive of Indorama Ventures, a Thai chemical company with significant investments in Brazil. Together with the Royal Thai Embassy in Brasília, led by H.E. Ms. Kundhinee Aksornwong, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil, the delegation also undertook study visits focusing on clean energy, ethanol production, sugarcane plantation management, and sugarcane breeding technology at São Martinho’s Usina Iracema sugar and ethanol mill and the Centro de Tecnologia Canavieira (CTC) in the State of São Paulo.

The delegation also participated in a hybrid business networking session organised by the Royal Thai Embassy and the São Paulo Commercial Association (Associação Comercial de São Paulo: ACSP), aimed at fostering business connections and exploring opportunities between the Thai and Brazilian private sectors. In addition, the Thai Ambassador led the delegation in meetings with representatives of the São Paulo City Council and the Government of the State of São Paulo to exchange views on ways to further strengthen cooperation between Thailand and Brazil.
