“Excellency,

I have the honour to extend my sincerest congratulations and warm wishes to Your Excellency on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on 6 August 2021.

Over the past 45 years, the relations between Thailand and Viet Nam have steadily grown and expanded into all areas of common interest. There have been regular exchanges of visits and dialogues through multiple bilateral mechanisms at all levels. Our trade and investment exchanges have grown exponentially and have brought our two economies closely together in shared prosperity. Most importantly, our people-to-people ties have been made stronger through regular exchanges of visits and mutual appreciation of each other’s culture and heritage. As we look ahead, I believe that our two countries should continue to promote closer interaction between our young peoples who will be the key driving force that will take the Thailand – Viet Nam relations forward into the future.

Beyond bilateral ties, both Thailand and Viet Nam have played active roles in contributing to the region’s progress, narrowing development gaps and promoting economic integration both within ASEAN and between ASEAN and its external partners. As we confront the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, I strongly believe that by working more closely, bilaterally and together with the ASEAN family, Thailand and Viet Nam will overcome this common challenge.

The elevation of our relations to the Strengthened Strategic Partnership in 2019 and the celebration of the 45th anniversary of our diplomatic relations this year are the manifestation of our strong commitment to working hand in hand for our two countries and peoples, which, I am confident, will surely become ever closer and stronger.

Accept, Excellency, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration.

                                    Don Pramudwinai

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs

                              of the Kingdom of Thailand”

END.
