On 21 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Nicholas Moore AO, Australia’s Special Envoy to Southeast Asia, in Sydney, Australia.

Both sides welcomed the dynamic Thailand–Australia relations, particularly in the political and economic dimensions, as reflected in the Prime Minister’s official visit to Australia from 17–20 August 2026, and the upcoming Australian Prime Minister’s official visit to Thailand in 2027, on the occasion of the 75^th anniversary of diplomatic relations, as well as continued exchanges of business delegations between the two countries.

The Special Envoy noted that the Australian Prime Minister places importance on promoting cooperation with Southeast Asia. Following the development of “Invested: Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040,” the value of Australia’s economic interests in the region have increased significantly, with further potential for increased investment. The Chairman of the Advisory Board commended the implementation of the Strategy and expressed readiness to work closely with the Australian side to promote cooperation in key areas, including energy, the digital economy, food technology, healthcare and supply chains, as well as to jointly address barriers to trade and investment, labour mobility, and facilitate investment by Thai businesses in Australia.
