The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs had a videoconference call with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Minister of Immigration and Asylum of Luxembourg, discussing bilateral cooperation, particularly in financial innovation as well as promotion of bilateral trade and investment.

On 11 March 2021, at 16.00-17.00 hrs. (Thailand’s local time), H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, had a videoconference call with H.E. Mr. Jean Asselborn, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Minister of Immigration and Asylum, at the latter’s request.

Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to work together to bring closer ties between the two countries and highlighted cooperation on financial innovation, which had witnessed growing dynamism. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs encouraged the Luxembourg’s side to further explore trade and investment opportunities, especially in logistics and finance technology (FinTech) clusters in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) as well as the Bio-Circular-Green Economy, which would be one of the engines to drive sustainable economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. Both sides also exchanged views on regional developments, including the situation in Myanmar.
