On 23 - 25 March 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, welcomed Mr. Chai Wacharonke, Thai Trade Representative (TTR), and the Thai delegation, on their visit to Malaysia to discuss with high-level officials from the Malaysian government and private sector on Thailand - Malaysia cooperation in the fields of livestock and agricultural products, as well as the halal industry.
On 25 March 2025, the Ambassador and TTR Chai, along with the Thai delegation, met with executives from Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) Malaysia led by Mr. Montree Srihamontree, President of Agro Business; Mr. Wirat Phothiphan, President of Aquaculture Business; and Mr. Saksit Panurach, Chief Executive Officer of Lotus’s Malaysia, at PK Agro - Industrial Products (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Selangor. The discussion focused on opportunities to expand livestock products in Malaysia, particularly increasing distribution channels for Thai export products, promoting the halal processed food industry using Thai raw materials, and leveraging modern agricultural innovations in production processes.
In the afternoon of 24 and 25 March 2025, TTR Chai brought a delegation of Thai livestock businesses, led by Mrs. Nuanla-ong Srichumpon, President of Thai Livestock and Meat Exporter-Importer Association (TLEX), to participate in the business matching activities with the Malaysian livestock businesses from the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) and Invest Selangor Bhd. under the Selangor state government. The event, organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) in Kuala Lumpur, provided Thai businesses an opportunity to showcase their expertise in developing high-quality cattle breeds and Thailand’s readiness as a reliable source of raw materials for the Malaysian market.
In the evening of 23 March 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy organised a meeting among the Thai delegation in a constructive atmosphere to ensure their readiness for discussions with the Malaysian side, aimed at maximising benefits for Thailand.
