Kolkata – On 27 March 2025, Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, participated in the United Interfaith Foundation of India’s (UIFI) Iftar dinner, a profoundly moving occasion aimed at promoting the ‘Spirit of Interfaith Unity.’ This heartwarming gathering brought together distinguished representatives from various religious communities, united by a shared commitment to fostering dialogue, mutual respect, and understanding.
The Iftar dinner unfolded as a beautiful tapestry of interfaith solidarity. Christians, led by Most Rev. Thomas D’Souza, the Archbishop of Calcutta and President of UIFI, graciously opened the doors of the Church of Christ the King, offering a warm welcome to all, symbolizing the spirit of inclusion and unity. Sikhs, represented by Mr. Satnam Singh Ahluwalia, Chairman of the Indian Humanitarian Assistance (IHA) Foundation, extended their heartfelt hospitality, ensuring that every participant felt embraced by the warmth of their faith. Buddhists, along with prominent individuals from many different faiths, gathered together in the sacred moment of Iftar, standing side by side with the Muslim community in a powerful display of solidarity and shared humanity.
