On 4 February 2025, Mr. Vorapun Srivoranart, Deputy Director-General of East Asian Affairs Department, welcomed the delegation from the Kelantan Siamese Association, along with Thai language teachers and Siamese students in Kelantan, during their visit to Thailand.
Both sides exchanged views on the promotion of Thai language and preservation of Buddhism in the Siamese community in the State of Kelantan of Malaysia. Representatives of the Siamese community also participated in a Saranrom radio programme to share insights into the life of the Siamese communities as part of Malaysian society in the states of Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Perlis of Malaysia, and how they have continued to preserve Thai language and culture, including practicing Buddhism, as well as teaching Thai language at Thai temples. The Deputy Director-General then hosted a luncheon for the delegation. In addition, the delegation will also visit historical, cultural and tourism attractions in various provinces across Thailand.
