H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, will co-chair the 4th Meeting of the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) between Thailand and Vietnam with H.E. Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on 19 November 2021 via videoconference.

The 4th JCBC meeting, which will be held under the theme “Advancing Strengthened Strategic Partnership for Sustainable and Resilient Recovery and Growth,” will be an important opportunity for Thailand and Vietnam to follow up on the progress made in various areas of cooperation and to bring forth cooperation in new areas that will bring about tangible benefits for the peoples of both countries, particularly in support of efforts by Thailand and Vietnam to achieve a strong, resilient and sustainable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the meeting, Thailand and Vietnam will further enhance the “Strengthened Strategic Partnership” between the two countries in 3 key areas, namely: (1) Partnership for Sustainable Peace, (2) Partnership for Sustainable Growth, and (3) Partnership for Sustainable Future.

In addition, this JCBC meeting is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Thailand-Vietnam diplomatic relations in the year 2021, and will pave the way for the upcoming 4th Joint Cabinet Retreat (JCR) to be hosted by Vietnam next year. Three MOUs to enhance cooperation in areas of foreign affairs, culture and local-to-local exchanges will also be signed at the end of this JCBC.
