On 2 November 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India on the occasion of the visit to India to preside over the Royal Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony at Mahabodhi Vihara in New Delhi.

Both sides discussed various issues on the bilateral relations between Thailand and India including the defense industry, a potential area for cooperation. They also emphasized the roles of Thailand and India in driving forward multilateral frameworks, particularly BIMSTEC and Mekong-Ganga Cooperation (MGC). The two Ministers addressed regional issues of common interests and agreed to work together to tackle issues such as transnational crimes, human trafficking, natural disaster, and enhancing connectivity within the region.

In addition, Thailand and India agreed to promote high-level exchanges to maintain the positive momentum of relations between the two countries into the future.
