On 1 November 2023 at 17.00 hrs. (Thai local time), H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, had a telephone conversation with H.E. Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of the State of Israel.
The Thai Prime Minister expressed his condolences on the loss of innocent lives, injuries and abducted civilians, as a result of the conflict since 7 October 2023. Prime Minister Srettha also expressed his concern regarding the welfare of Thai nationals residing in Israel and the safety of the abducted Thai civilians, and sought reassurances from the Israeli side to take care of those Thai nationals who chose to remain in Israel. Prime Minister Srettha also expressed his gratitude to the Israeli authorities for the support rendered to the Thai side in facilitating the evacuation flights of Thai nationals during the past two weeks. In reply, Prime Minister Netanyahu gave assurances that the Thai workers currently residing in Israel will be well taken care of. He also stressed the significant role and contribution of the Thai workers in Israel’s agricultural sector.
In addition, both Prime Ministers exchanged views on the current situation and the development of the ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza Strip.
