On 7 November 2023, at 18.00-20.00 hrs.,H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan,  Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, hosted an Introductory Reception in honour of H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.E. Mr. Jakkapong Sangmanee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs;  H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.E. Ms. Chayika Wongnapachant, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.E. Ms. Kanphakamon Sophatphirunnasak, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Thanarat Chongsuttanamanee, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Mr. Chavarat Urasyanandana, Assistant Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs at Vithes Samosorn. The reception was well attended by over 200 Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Consular Representatives and International Organizations in Thailand as well as executives of the Ministry. On this occasion, H.E. Datuk Jojie Samuel, Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, extended his warm congratulations to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and their close aides while expressing confidence in Thailand’s leading role in the region particularly on economic fronts.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs took this opportunity to underscore four-pronged approaches of Thailand’s “proactive” foreign policy including (1) promoting economic security and prosperity for tangible benefits to the Thai people; (2) taking new initiatives and approaches where it matters to stay on top of global radar screen; (3) being forward-looking in addressing current and future challenges to peace, progress and prosperity of the region and the world at large; and (4) expanding the network of friends by strengthening existing partnership and forging new friendships for mutual benefits.

Meanwhile, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Consular Representatives and International Organizations exchanged views with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on current issues of common interests. They also hailed the reception as a memorable event with warm and friendly atmoshere and trusted that under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs the relations and cooperative efforts between Thailand and their respective countries will be further enhanced.
