On 25 February 2025, Ms. Cataleya Phatoomros, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, discussed with Ms. Elisa Morgera, the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights in the context of climate change on the occasion of the latter’s visit to Thailand to attend the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) in Bangkok.

Both sides exchanged views on Thailand’s efforts on climate action, taking into consideration the intersectionality between human rights and climate change. They also discussed the progress on the draft Climate Change Act and Thailand's key priorities regarding human rights and climate change in international forums, such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the United Nations Human Rights Council.
