On 22 January 2024, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joins the Prime Minister’s delegation to follow up on the issues of cross-border trade, customs, and fishery at Ranong Pier – Koh Song

This event marks the Deputy Prime Minister’s first mission during the inspection and the Mobile Cabinet Meeting 1/2024 trip in Ranong. On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister was briefed on key issues in Ranong province from local authorities. The issues include (1) the overview of cross-border trade between Ranong province and Koh Song, Myanmar; (2) the overview of imports and exports between Thailand and Myanmar; (3) statistics of arrivals and departures at the Ranong province’s Immigration Checkpoint; and (4) statistics on migrant workers in Ranong province.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister also joined the Prime Minister’s delegation to inspect the Paknam Municipality Pier. The Prime Minister expressed appreciation to Ranong locals for their warm hospitality and said that the government has a policy in place to develop the Pier, which is aimed to have positive outcomes for fisheries in the area and help address illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
