On 29 September 2022, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted a working lunch in honour of
H.E. Mr. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary on the occasion of the latter’s official visit to Thailand as guest of the Foreign Ministry.

Both sides exchanged information and viewpoints on ways to move forward Thai-Hungarian bilateral cooperation. Notable areas of cooperation discussed include: water management, both drought and flood prevention, on which Hungary has expertise; promotion of bilateral trade, especially pork meat and pork product from Hungary; and the cooperation on nuclear energy especially concerning cyclotron and reactor. Moreover, both sides exchanged views on international developments, especially on the situation in Ukraine and peace efforts.

Prior to the said meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary signed
an MOU on Cooperation between the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs and the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy to promote cooperation on diplomatic training and exchange of information.
