On 26 July 2023, Mr. Ahmed Bashir Elnefeidi, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Khartoum, the Republic of the Sudan, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, during his visit as guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand thanked Mr. Elnefeidi for his invaluable support and service rendered to the Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand during the evacuation of Thai nationals from the Republic of the Sudan in April 2023, and also hosted luncheon in his honour, in presence of Mrs. Pornpimol Kanchanalak, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nantiwat Samart, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Peerasak Chantavarin, former Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt and Sudan (2014 - 2016), H.E. Mr. Chainarong Keratiyutwong, former Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt and Sudan (2017 - 2019), H.E. Mr. Nathapol Khantahiran, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Worawoot Pongprapapant, Director-General, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affair
