The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Showcases Thai Creativity to the Vietnamese Public through the Thai Festival in Hanoi 2025

On 28 March 2025, H.E. Mrs. Lalivan Karnchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, presided over the opening ceremony of the Thai Festival in Hanoi 2025. On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam,delivered welcoming remarks and welcomed guests to the festival. H.E. Associate Professor Lê Hải Bình,Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, attended the event as a guest of honour. Also in attendance were representatives from theVietnamese government, diplomatic corps in Hanoi, Team Thailand, Thai private sector, as well as Thai and Vietnamese citizens.

Thai Festival in Hanoi was held between 28 - 30 March 2025, at the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long, Hanoi, under the theme "Creative Thailand: The Pulse of Tradition" with a view to showcase Thai products and services to the international audience, promote the global outreach of Thailand’s creative industries, and fosterpeople-to-people interactions and mutual understanding.

Highlights of the Festival included performances by Thai artists such as SISMA and All-Thidsa Molam band, traditional Thai dance performances, creative industry booths featuring innovative fashion, handicrafts, food, and design, as well as Thai product and food stalls. Other activities included DIY workshops, recreations of the Loy Krathong and Songkran festivals, film screenings of Love Destiny: The Movie (2022) and 404 Run Run (2024), and a special fan meeting with popular Thai actor Ter - Chantavit Dhanasevi.

This event was made possible by the collaboration of several organizations, including the Creative Economy Agency, Ministry of Commerce, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thailand Foundation, National Soft Power Development Committee, Team Thailand agencies, and the Thai private sector. The festival was well-received by the Vietnamese public, particularly among the younger generation and families.

Thai Festival in Hanoi constitutes part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand’s initiative in cultural and public diplomacy aimed at fostering mutual understanding and strengthening people-to-people ties. It is a vital tool for proactive economic diplomacy aimed at promoting Thailand’s creative economy on the global stage. In 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with partner organizations, is organizing Thai Festivals in 45 cities across 32 countries worldwide.
